Production Supervisor – Night Shift

Position Summary (Main Purpose)

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of all departments and associates on night shift — including Machining, Quality, and Parts Finishing — as directed by primary (day) shift operations leadership within our medical device manufacturing facility. This role ensures production schedules are executed, quality and regulatory requirements are met, and associates are engaged and supported in a safe and efficient environment. The Supervisor drives performance execution and supports continuous improvement activities aligned with company goals and priorities established by dayshift leadership.

Production Supervisor Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all associates across all departments on night shift.
• Ensure associates are meeting production needs while meeting customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal procedures.
• Execute night shift priorities and schedules as established by dayshift leadership.
• Identify and escalate issues impacting safety, quality, or delivery.
• Maintain night shift production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow processes to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure machine uptime, production, and inspection, to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Review KPIs related to production output, quality, cost, and efficiency, and escalate concerns or variances to dayshift/Manufacturing Manager as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and internal quality requirements.
• Promote and support Lean initiatives such as standard work, 5S, problem solving, and waste elimination.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members to drive performance, engagement, and skill development.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, planning, and maintenance to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate production reporting and ERP transactions.
• Interview, select, and develop new associates.
• Perform manufacturing responsibilities and other duties as needed.

Production Supervisor Qualifications & Skills

• Associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role in machining operations, medical device experience preferred.
• Understanding of CNC machining processes, finishing, and quality practices.
• Familiarity with FDA and ISO 13485 regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate front-line teams.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.
